Jaguar XJS Pre HE 20,300 genuine miles and a one owner car from new. Finished in Regency Red with Biscuit trim, a very desirable combination. An early 1977 car with Black boot panel and stainless steel B post trim. This car has an interesting back story, the personal car of the proprietor of one of Lakeland’s best known Jaguar franchises, which the Dobson family took over when Dutton Forshaw closed the doors. The family had a large collection of Jaguars mostly of which were stored in a glass fronted garage at home, they stopped collecting due to space but when they took over the Jaguar franchise some cars were then displayed in turn in the showroom. The collection was the subject of a magazine article back in 1989 in which this XJS has a mention. The car has been in slumber since the early 1980’s and has just been awoken, fuel lines cleaned, fresh fuel, new spark plugs, new battery and the car started. Once started the water pumped dripped so a new one was fitted, once warm the car surged so a new auxiliary air valve was fitted and the car ticked over with the smoothness that the v12 is renowned for. The interior is in superb unmarked condition, with soft leather, original flock carpets, perfect door cards and head lining, it certainly is like sitting in a time machine. Under the bonnet is very clean and looks every inch is minimal miles. The car comes with drivers handbook, supercover portfolio pack and passport to service book. In the boot you will find the jack, wheel brace and original tool roll, it even still has the fibre board spare wheel cover, these are usually long gone. I have driven the car down the lane and it goes through the gears and the brakes work though they are binding slightly. The car needs further recommissioning and paintwork, once done you will have a one owner 20,000 mile Pre HE, this would easily make one of the best cars out there. The wire wheels are bolt on and in excellent condition, I do have 3 Kent alloys which will need refurbishing that can go with the car. If I don’t get enough interest, I will sort the car over winter and price accordingly.
