Jaguar E Type series two roadster, build date December 1969, this is a matching numbers car. Finished in Opalescent Gunmetal Grey with French Blue hide trim and complimented with chrome wire wheels. Originally supplied by Jaguar to BL cars of New York. The car was repatriated to the UK in 2013 by a marque specialist, where the car was then subject to a full nut and bolt rebuild to the new owners specifications. The spec included electronic fuel injection and ignition, 6 branch stainless steel exhaust, power assisted steering, 5 speed manual gearbox and Gaz adjustable suspension along with poly bushes. All these carefully chosen, excellent and sensible modifications make this E Type a very usable and driver focused car. This is an E Type you can actually use everyday should you wish to do so.
During the total restoration the car was completely stripped to a bare shell and everything was either repaired or replaced with new as needed. The engine was completely rebuilt and fitted with new electronic fuel injection. The old 4 speed gearbox was replaced with a new 5 speed E-Fab gearbox, rear axle rebuilt, complete suspension rebuild and all new Gaz adjustable shocks fitted. The interior was also treated to a complete re-trim and new hood fitted. All chrome was either replaced with new or re-chromed. All wiring and electrics renewed. The car comes with a comprehensive build sheet with detailed invoices and photos. The cost of this build was a staggering £100,000. The car has since seen very little use since its build in fact the car has covered a mere 800 miles or so and since been in storage. The car has just been to marque specialists Hilton & Moss for a full fluid change, which included engine, gearbox, rear axle, coolant and brake fluids at a cost of £1,500.
