Ford Cortina MK1 estate first registered 12/11/1965. This car started life as a 1500 deluxe but was converted several years for Goodwood, so I was told by the previous owner ( see photo ). It certainly has had a high standard of build, both paint and body are excellent and I can see little if any of past repairs underside The chrome is excellent, the front quarter bumpers and irons are brand new. The interior is superb having had a full re-trim. From what I can ascertain the car was built into an already excellent shell, which was painted inside and out, all the door and screen seals were replaced, tinted windows fitted, interior re-trimmed and complimented with a quality wood rim steering wheel. The car was then fitted with a Ford 1.8 Zetec engine running a webber carb, the exhaust is a four branch stainless system. Transmission is a T9 5 speed box with custom made prop-shaft, the running gear along with the alloy wheels is RS2000. The cooling is through an uprated alloy radiator and Spal electric fan. The wiring has been upgrade so a 10 stack CD system and modern stereo could be fitted along with extra speakers, all discreetly placed. The power is by two 12 volt race batteries cleverly hidden away in the rear inner wing. A very special Cortina estate that can be used daily and is more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic. Most of the conversion has been done using the RetroFord kit. A stunning MK1 Cortina Estate that turns heads were ever it goes. Current MOT to March 2022.
